James
Fishlock James has been involved in Scouting for more than 20 years, starting
at the tender age of 6 as one of the first Beaver Scouts in the 10th Bath Scout
Group. He progressed up through the group and moved on to be assistant Scout Leader.
James ran the Phoenix Venture Scout unit for 3 years before the end of Ventures
in 2002. He then set up Explorer Scouting in Bath before taking a break from Explorers
to return to help with Scouts. James now runs the Phoenix Explorer Scout unit. James
is a Structural Engineer, designing buildings and structures both locally and
further a field. Before long you are sure to be told how he designed the Sainsburys
Petrol Station in Bath and his escapades in Germany, designing Legoland Deutschland.
He currently works for an engineering company in Bristol. James has a wide
range of interests, most of them leading him to the outside. His favourite activity
is mountaineering, and he is authorised to take Explorers up any mountain in England
or Wales. Each year James spends at least a week in Scotland mountaineering in
Snow and Ice conditions in the Highlands. As well as mountaineering. James is
also an RYA qualified powerboat driver and is authorised to take Explorers out
in fast speed boats. James is renowned for his jokes, including one about
two peanuts…he is often referred to as the human dustbin at camps due to his love
of food! |
