Bing Bong: We all came back safe and sound from our Pack Holiday Adventure! After the terrible floods around the Gloucester/Worcester area we hurridly rearranged our camp to be 2 nights at the Scout HQ, and 4 nights at the Wansdyke District Jamboree (WANJAM)! Bong Bing

Bing Bong: Cubs arrived on Sunday and put up their tents in the grounds of the Scout HQ. We then headed off to Rainbow woods for some cricket and then bed around 10:30. How many cub trips to the loo can you have in one night? Answer: Millions! Bong Bing.

Bing Bong: On Monday we headed off to the Mendip Outdoor Pursuits Centre for archery and a really muddly assault course! Lots of cubs fell in the river and all of them got covered in good clean mud. In the afternoon we headed over to Burrington Combe for some climbing and abseiling on real rocks! Everyone had a go at climbing up some real rocks and abseiling down. A long and tiring but challenging day! Pasta tea then games around the hut finished off the day. Bong Bing.

Grubby Cubs

Bing Bong. Tuesday saw us up early and off to Bath Racecourse to join Wansdyke District in their Jamboree, WANJAM. Their district team kindly made room for us to join them after our planned campsite at Ledbury was affected by the floods. Onsite activities were the order of the day. Bong Bing.

Bing Bong. Wednesday was a special Scouting day, marking the actual 100th Anniversary of Baden-Powell's first Scout Camp on Brownsea Island. Up and in uniform early we are ready at 8am for the Scouting Sunrise ceremony which saw a young lad, who was 6 that day, invested as a Beaver on the stroke of 8 - hopefully the first UK Scouting member of the new Century! After that we all headed to Avon Valley Country Park and then onto the County event at Weson-Super-Mare. Late night back! Bong Bing.

Scouting Sunrise Badge

Bing Bong: Thursday saw more onsite activites and in the afternoon we went to Farleigh Hungerford Castle. In the early evening we joined in the Cub 5 a-side football which we didn't win, but we did win the fair play trophy! Campfire in the evening and another late night! Bong Bing.

Bing Bong: Friday saw more onsite activities and in the afternoon a trip to Norwood Rare Breeds Farm. The evening saw us joining in a final Jamboree photograph and a closing ceremony with a juggler juggling fire sticks on a unicycle, the results of a talent (?) competition and the final thank-yous. Yet another late night! Bong Bing.

Bing Bong. Saturday was up early, pack kit, hand out badges and then collection by parents. Leaders then packed away the tents and left, tired but happy. Bong Bing.
