31 cubs
from the Monday and Tuesday cub packs spent 1 night under canvas at the Scout
HQ. Of these cubs, only 4 had Cub Camped before, so the leaders had their work
cut out to make sure everything went smoothly. Cubs arrived at 2 and put
up their tents in the Scout Hut grounds. Then, after some games we had tea
(Pasta and sauce, Chocolate mini-rolls and Ice Cream) and then went for a wide
game over the woods. And as is tradtional on the last night of camp (!!!)
we had a campfire and songs, with marshmallows toasted on sticks! |  |
Sleep
came easily for some cubs, less easily for others, and hardly at all for some
of the leaders :-) But we all survived. In the morning the cubs cooked breakfast
for themselves and the leaders, and very nice it was too! And then after washing
up and a quick tidy, we headed off for a hike. Back to the hut for 2pm,
hand out lots of Nights Away and Hikes Away badges, and then off go the cubs,
and the leaders stayed back to finish the clear up. Hopefully everyone had
a fun and tiring time, and will come back to camp with us soon! Akela, 27
