The weather was kind, setting the scene for a superb weekend camp. Several leaders spend Friday transporting kit and putting up the communal tents. At and 6pm we collected the cubs from the Scout HQ and made the short drive to Tedbury scout camp site near Frome.

No rest on Friday though, cubs were soon busy putting up their tents and preparing their beds. Bed and sleep followed quite late.

In the morning during Flag Break we invested seven new Cubs into the 10th Bath. The morning saw the cubs making fires in the woods and cooking camp stew, baked potatoes and bananas with chocolate buttons! After this feast they headed off for a short hike to Whatley and back. After tea it was campfire time. The leaders sat around the fire late into the night after the tired cubs had gone to bed.

We had to wake the cubs for breakfast. After flag break and inspection it was time to make bivouacs in the woods. After lunch it was time to break camp and transport the tired cubs back to Bath. The leaders stayed on to complete the clear up exercise, eventually finishing sometime around 9pm!

And that's the story of a super woodland camp.
