Pack Holiday 2005

Pack Holiday 2005 was held at the Warren Oak Scout Site, Ledbury near Malvern.

This was our second visit to Warren Oak, but this year we spent 4 of the 6 nights in tents! This worked remarkably well and everyone had a great time.

Patrol Tents

Although we had a nice hut to sleep in we spent Monday through Friday sleeping in Patrol tents, one six per tent. The cubs put them up on Monday morning and they all stayed up!

We had lots of lovely food to eat. No one went hungry and although it might not be up to Jamie Oliver standard it was pretty well cooked.

For the last 3 Pack Holidays Akela has been perfecting the backwoods techique of cooking in a cardboard box. Line the box with foil, insert a nicely glowing disposable barbeque and then roast your chicken for an hour. It was going lovely this year, best ever, until Aaron decided we were singeing the grass and decided to put the chicken, in the box, into the altar fires. Of course the box burst into flame, and this was the result.

We did manage to salvage some chicken for leader's sandwiches though!

Abseiling

We went to Blackwell Court Scout Activity Centre, and did climbing, abseiling, grass sledging, team building, archery and pedal cars. Everyone had a go!

Surfice to say we all had a great time and came back tired and happy.
